Glossary
- Loudness (I) · ITU-R BS.1770-4
- Integrated programme loudness in LUFS. The -27 LUFS cinema comparison point is descriptive only, not a DCP conformance limit.
- LU range
- EBU R128 loudness range: the measured variation of programme loudness, expressed in LU.
- Leq(m)
- ISO 21727:2016 / SMPTE RP 2054:2010 type-(m) weighted energy. The TASA trailer ceiling is 85 dB and the SAWA cinema-advertising ceiling is 82 dB; neither is a general DCP conformance limit.
- Leq(m10)
- Ioan Allen’s feature-film descriptor: a rolling ten-minute type-(m) energy window sampled every 750 ms, accumulated above 80 dB and normalized by full composition duration. It is descriptive, not a DCP conformance limit.
- dcp_inspect IAB render · 9.1 OH
-
A fixed, deterministic inspection render of the authored IAB programme through the physical endpoints of the Studio IAB/Atmos installation, collapsed onto a 9.1 OH measurement bus.
Its purpose is to provide a stable, reproducible programme signal for loudness measurement, independent of the player’s current auditorium and installation settings.
- Lossless 48 kHz base-layer DLC reconstruction
- Active bed/object and conditional hierarchy resolution
- Authored bed/object gains and bed remapping
- Sample-continuous object gain and spatial-routing transitions
- Per-subblock XYZ position, spread, ObjectSnap and Zone9/Zone19 rendering
- Optional authored decorrelation in the explicit full measurement
- IAB decorrelation
- The normal fast measurement omits authored decorrelation. Where the essence contains decorrelation data, the optional full measurement applies it and reports the measured change.
- IAB source waveforms
- Object envelopes include authored object and pan-subblock gain. Bed envelopes show source channels before remapping; both are shown before spatial distribution. Source identities remain scoped to their reel and AuxData track.
Todo?
A lot. This is a beta in progress with things moving around and quite a few open ends:
- DKDM support
- Image analysis
- Composition metadata
- Bv2.1/RDD 52 overlay
- Presentation issues
- Reporting and exporting
- mo less ugly
Install dcp_inspect for its own app window. Inspection and playback run fully locally.
